JAMSHEDPUR – A major robbery took place in Bistupur on Thursday when miscreants looted ₹30 lakh from a businessman in broad daylight, just a day after a jewelry shop was targeted in Sonari.
Police sources said businessman Saket Agarwal was carrying cash to deposit in a bank. However, near a Gurudwara, a group of criminals in an Innova intercepted him, attacked, and snatched his bag full of cash.
Witnesses reported that the criminals also opened fire in the air before fleeing, causing panic in the busy market area. The bold daylight act has shocked locals. Within 24 hours, this became the second big loot in the city, raising concerns about rising criminal activities.
Bistupur police reached the spot soon after receiving information. Officers have begun investigation and are scanning for leads to identify the gang. Residents have expressed alarm at the increasing frequency of violent robberies.
