JAMSHEDPUR – Police in Seraikela carried out a special crime prevention and vehicle check operation ahead of Independence Day.
The operation, led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sameer Savaiya, was held on Wednesday. Officers inspected vehicles near Vyavahar Nyayalaya Chowk, checking for helmets, seat belts, and contraband.
After the checks, the SDPO led a foot march through Seraikela town with police personnel. He announced that additional forces would be deployed on August 15.
Moreover, he urged residents to celebrate the occasion without fear. He stated that anti-drug drives were also being run continuously.
According to police, public cooperation in these drives had increased. This has helped reduce public drinking incidents in the town. As a result, trust in police has improved.
Seraikela police station in-charge Vinay Kumar and his team were also present during the operation. The initiative helped maintain a sense of safety in the area.
