Sahis Urges Quick Resolution of Kolhan University Issues
AJSU Leader Meets Students, Demands Fee Rollback and Single Marksheet
Key Points:
- Sahis meets Kolhan University students, submits memorandum to VC
- Students demand free updated marksheets, halt to exam fee collection
- AJSU warns of strong agitation if problems remain unresolved
JAMSHEDPUR – AJSU party’s principal general secretary Ramchandra Sahis met Kolhan University students and urged administration to immediately address their academic concerns.
Sahis visited the university campus on Thursday, August 7, 2025. He met with students to understand their grievances. Moreover, he submitted a detailed memorandum to the Vice Chancellor.
The former minister emphasized immediate action from university administration. However, students have been facing multiple academic issues. In addition, they are demanding transparent resolution processes.
Students are primarily concerned about marksheet procedures. They want updated certificates without surrendering old ones. Furthermore, the process should be completely free of charge.
“University must stop collecting additional examination fees immediately,” said a student representative. The administration should also establish proper communication channels.
Students have outlined five specific demands through their petition. First, they want free updated marksheets in exchange for old ones. Second, the university should provide only single certificates.
Third, examination fee collection must cease with immediate effect. Additionally, paid amounts should be refunded or adjusted. Finally, a dedicated helpline needs establishment for student queries.
The university currently requires students to show multiple marksheets. However, this creates confusion in employment and admission processes. On the other hand, students prefer simplified documentation systems.
Sahis warned of strong protests if demands remain unaddressed. AJSU party will launch vigorous agitation to protect students’ futures. Besides, the party considers this a serious educational matter.
The memorandum specifically requests transparent procedures for certificate updates. Students need clear guidelines about documentation requirements. Moreover, the administration should establish regular dialogue mechanisms.
University officials have not yet responded to the submitted demands. However, students expect prompt action from the Vice Chancellor. In contrast, delayed responses may escalate campus tensions.
