  • Multi-agency team conducts intensive search operation based on intelligence

SERAIKELA – Security forces have recovered a massive cache of explosives planted by banned CPI (Maoist) organization near Seraikela-Kharsawan and Chaibasa district borders.

The joint operation yielded 44.5 kilograms of improvised explosive devices from forest areas. However, bomb disposal experts immediately destroyed all recovered materials on site.

Seraikela-Kharsawan Superintendent of Police received credible intelligence about the hidden explosives. Moreover, informants revealed that Maoist cadres had concealed these materials years ago. Besides, the cache was strategically placed to target security forces.

The Dalbhanga OP area under Kuchai police station became the focus of operations. Furthermore, this region lies along the inter-district boundary between Chaibasa and Seraikela. Additionally, dense forests and hilly terrain provided ideal hiding spots.

A multi-agency team launched intensive search operations in the targeted area. Meanwhile, Seraikela-Kharsawan police coordinated with Chaibasa counterparts for the mission. Moreover, Jharkhand Jaguar, CRPF, and SSB personnel joined the operation.

Security personnel discovered explosives concealed inside blue plastic containers throughout the forest. However, systematic searching revealed the full extent of the cache. Furthermore, careful documentation preceded the disposal process.

The recovered explosives included 15 can IEDs weighing 1.5 kilograms each. Additionally, 15 smaller can IEDs of 1.0 kilogram were found. Moreover, 14 devices weighing 500 grams each completed the arsenal.

Total weight calculations showed 22.5 kilograms from the larger devices. Meanwhile, medium-sized explosives contributed 15 kilograms to the cache. Besides, smaller devices added another 7 kilograms to the collection.

Bomb disposal experts followed standard protocols while destroying the explosive materials. Furthermore, complete destruction ensured no residual threat remained in the area. On the other hand, safety measures protected all personnel during disposal operations.

Police have initiated legal proceedings following the successful recovery operation. However, expanded search operations continue across surrounding forest areas. Moreover, anti-Naxal campaigns will intensify to prevent future incidents.

The operation demonstrates effective intelligence gathering and inter-agency coordination capabilities. Furthermore, timely action prevented potential casualties among security forces and civilians. Besides, continued vigilance remains essential for regional security.
