JAMSHEDPUR – Sneha Kumari from Mango’s Gaud Basti achieved historic success by winning two gold medals at the World Strengthlifting Championship in Bangkok.

The 25-year-old competed in the 12th edition held from July 16-19. She represented India with distinction at the international event. However, her achievement brought mixed emotions due to lack of state support.

Sneha secured gold medals in two categories during competition. She excelled in strengthlifting and IB incline benchpress divisions. Moreover, she lifted approximately 100 kilograms during her performances.

Her exceptional display impressed judges and spectators alike. Meanwhile, competitors from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal participated. However, Russia and host Thailand also fielded strong teams.

The athlete credited her father Kameshwar Thakur as inspiration source. She revealed financial constraints prevented participation last year. On the other hand, her father made every effort this time.

Sneha maintains rigorous training schedule of four hours daily. This dedication contributed significantly to her championship success. Moreover, consistent preparation enabled peak performance during competition.

She studies at Netaji University while pursuing athletic career. However, she has previously won multiple national medals. Furthermore, international competitions have featured her successful participation.

Financial difficulties forced her to skip competitions previously. Meanwhile, family struggles to arrange tournament expenses repeatedly. However, determination drives continued participation despite obstacles.

Her father’s efforts enabled this breakthrough achievement finally. On the other hand, sustained training produced exceptional results. Moreover, family sacrifices contributed to international success story.

The achievement brings pride to Jharkhand and Jamshedpur specifically. However, lack of recognition dampens celebration atmosphere. Furthermore, government apathy discourages future sporting aspirations.
