Union Minister Announces Rs 6,000 Crore Outer Ring Road Project

RANCHI – Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated Jharkhand’s first elevated corridor in Ranchi, announcing multiple infrastructure projects worth thousands of crores.

The Ratu Road elevated corridor spans 4.18 kilometers. Moreover, it was constructed at a cost of Rs 558 crore. However, this marks a significant milestone for Jharkhand’s infrastructure development.

Gadkari made several major announcements during the inauguration ceremony. On the other hand, the outer ring road project received approval. Besides, it will be built at Rs 6,000 crore cost. Meanwhile, the project will be executed in four packages.

The National Highways Authority of India will handle one package. In contrast, the state government will manage three packages. Furthermore, the detailed project report has been approved.

Sohrai paintings will decorate every pillar of the elevated corridor. Additionally, this cultural element received immediate approval from the minister. Moreover, proposals need to be submitted for implementation.

The Ranchi-Silli-Muri stretch will be declared a national highway. However, construction possibilities will be explored under Gati Shakti initiative. Besides, this will improve regional connectivity significantly.

E-bus trials will be conducted in Ranchi and Jamshedpur. On the other hand, Nagpur’s model will be followed. Furthermore, this initiative aims to promote sustainable transportation.

Central Road Fund approval worth Rs 5,500 crore was granted. Meanwhile, multiple highway projects received clearance. In addition, the Ekhari-Mehgama section will be built at Rs 1,300 crore.

The four-lane construction from Kodarma to Meghatari got approval. Moreover, this Rs 900 crore project will connect Ranchi and Patna better. However, travel time will reduce from one hour to 30 minutes.

Pakur city will get a 20-kilometer bypass costing Rs 450 crore. On the other hand, Hunterganj will receive a 7-kilometer bypass worth Rs 150 crore. Besides, both projects will reduce traffic congestion.

Gadkari recalled his earlier visit to Ranchi. Meanwhile, CP Singh had highlighted Ratu Road’s flyover requirement. However, Sanjay Seth continuously pursued this project completion.

The minister announced that Rs 1 lakh crore will be spent on corridor development in Jharkhand. Moreover, the Ranchi-Varanasi journey will take 4.5 hours. In addition, the Raipur-Dhanbad four-lane corridor spans 626 kilometers.

The corridor project costs Rs 18,000 crore. Furthermore, 77 percent work has been completed. However, the project will be finished by January 2028.

Gadkari mentioned seven world records achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. Meanwhile, logistics costs decreased from 16 percent to 10 percent. Moreover, it will further reduce to 9 percent by December.

The minister cited former US President John F Kennedy’s example. However, Kennedy had said good roads made America wealthy. Besides, India’s national highway infrastructure will match America’s within two years.

Green express highways are being constructed nationwide. Moreover, Delhi-Jaipur travel will take two hours. In addition, Mysore-Bengaluru journey will require one hour.

Several prominent leaders attended the inauguration ceremony. Meanwhile, Ranchi MP and Defense Minister Sanjay Seth was present. Moreover, Union Minister Annapurna Devi participated in the event.

BJP state president Babulal Marandi attended the function. However, former Chief Minister Raghubar Das was also present. Besides, Revenue Minister Dipak Birua joined the ceremony.

Rajya Sabha MPs Aditya Sahu and Pradeep Verma participated. On the other hand, Lok Sabha MPs Dhulu Mahto and Chandra Prakash Chaudhary attended. Furthermore, MLAs Ragini Singh and Navin Jaiswal were present.
