JAMSHEDPUR – In a shocking crime in Gudabanda, Pitho Mardi of Kasiyabeda was murdered over an alleged illicit relationship. Police have arrested K Murmu, the wife of accused Rupai Murmu, for her involvement. According to Station Officer Sunny Toppo, Pitho had gone to Pandugoda under the influence of alcohol on January 12 and called K Murmu to meet him.
Details of the Crime
Rupai Murmu woke to find his wife missing and later discovered her with Pitho near a school in Pandugoda. In a fit of rage, Rupai used a stone to kill Pitho. The couple then transported the body to the forest near Machbhandar’s Dhantopa Valley on a bicycle and discarded it there.
Investigation and Arrests
Five days later, on January 18, police recovered Pitho’s body. Investigations revealed that Pitho had been in an illicit relationship with K Murmu and had been warned by Rupai several times to stay away. Rupai was arrested earlier, and his wife K Murmu has now been sent to jail as well.
