SERAIKELA – A significant drug disposal program was conducted today in Sini, Seraikela-Kharsawan district, where narcotics worth approximately ₹30 crore were destroyed. The event was part of a nationwide initiative aimed at realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a drug-free India.

The campaign, organized under the Ministry of Home Affairs’ “Drug Disposal Fortnight,” runs from January 11 to January 25. Various police stations across Jharkhand contributed confiscated drugs from the past six months to this program.

Nationwide Anti-Drug Drive

Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated online in the event, emphasizing the importance of this initiative. He stated, “This is a major step toward fulfilling Prime Minister Modi’s vision of a drug-free India.” The program underscores the government’s commitment to tackling drug abuse and illegal narcotics trade.

The destroyed drugs, seized during police operations, reflect the success of enforcement agencies in curbing the drug menace. Local officials remarked that the program sends a strong message about the government’s zero-tolerance policy on drug trafficking.
