DSO Reviews Paddy Procurement in Palamu

Farmers Urged to Participate Actively to Meet Procurement Targets

MEDININAGAR – A review meeting on paddy procurement operations in Palamu was held on Friday at the District Cooperative Office under the chairmanship of District Supply Officer (DSO) Preeti Kisku. The meeting assessed the progress of procurement efforts against district targets, reporting 67,408 quintals of paddy purchased to date.

Focus on Accelerating Procurement

The DSO directed procurement centers to expedite the process and instructed them to notify registered farmers via SMS to encourage active participation. “Awareness among farmers is crucial for speeding up paddy procurement. Every eligible farmer in the district must benefit from this scheme,” emphasized Kisku.

Review of Paddy Lifting by Rice Millers

The meeting also evaluated the lifting of paddy by rice millers, with 10,224 quintals transported from procurement centers so far. The DSO urged all rice millers to accelerate the lifting process to streamline operations and ensure timely processing.

Warning Against Irregularities

The DSO issued a strict warning that any irregularities reported at procurement centers would result in immediate action. She reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to ensuring transparency and efficiency in the procurement process.

The meeting saw participation from PACS presidents, rice millers, and FPO representatives, who discussed strategies to enhance coordination and achieve district procurement goals.
