NEW DELHI – India’s first Vande Bharat sleeper train achieved a record speed of 180 kmph during ongoing trials in Rajasthan’s Kota Division.

The revolutionary train design marks a significant advancement in rail technology. Moreover, the train exhibited remarkable stability during high-speed runs.

“This achievement represents a new era in Indian Railways,” stated a senior railway official. The official highlighted that the trials would continue throughout January.

Advanced Features

The sleeper variant comes equipped with state-of-the-art amenities. Additionally, its aircraft-inspired interiors offer enhanced passenger comfort.

Meanwhile, the automatic door system ensures improved safety. The train also features advanced suspension technology for a smoother ride.

Operational Plans

Indian Railways aims to deploy these trains on multiple long-distance routes. Furthermore, the current trials will help establish safety protocols.

“We expect to reduce travel times by 30-40%,” noted a railway spokesperson. The trains will initially operate on three major routes.

Safety and Infrastructure

The trials are being conducted under strict safety parameters. Additionally, track infrastructure has been upgraded to support high-speed operations.

Railway authorities have invested significantly in track maintenance. Moreover, special monitoring systems have been installed along test routes.
