JAMSHEDPUR – Preparations for the 20th Swarnarekha Mahotsav have been finalized during a meeting of the Swarnarekha Region Development Trust at their Bistupur office. This year, the festival will begin on January 14 with river worship ceremonies at Domuhani Ghat in Sonari at 10:30 a.m. and Pandey Ghat in Sitaramdera at 11:30 a.m.
Rituals and Offerings
The ceremonies will include traditional river worship, followed by the distribution of prasad to all participants. According to trustee Ashok Goyal, the annual event aims to raise awareness about river conservation and celebrates the cultural heritage linked to the Swarnarekha River.
Evening Symposium
An evening symposium will be held at Milanee Hall, Bistupur, featuring prominent speakers, including MLA Saryu Roy and leading environmentalists. The session will focus on ecological preservation and sustainable development.
Notable Attendees
The event is organized jointly by Yugantar Bharati and the Swarnarekha Region Development Trust. During the meeting, trustees Ashok Goyal, Ashutosh Roy, Mukul Mishra, Subodh Srivastava, and others actively contributed to the planning.
