MEDININAGAR – A poster exhibition was organized by the Indian People’s Theatre Association’s (IPTA) Palamu unit, marking the martyrdom week of Safdar Hashmi and Ram Bahadur. This event, held at the court premises, drew attention to Hashmi’s revolutionary ideas and cultural contributions.

The exhibition displayed posters highlighting Hashmi’s advocacy for equality, peace, and resistance against communal violence. IPTA members, led by President Prem Bhasin, stood holding the posters as a symbolic tribute to the martyrs.

Cultural Performances Highlight Unity

The event featured a spirited performance by IPTA artists, who sang songs emphasizing truth and harmony. Lyrics like “Unity, equality, peace, and the courage to confront lies” resonated with the audience, fostering a sense of solidarity.

Remembering Safdar Hashmi

While conducting the program, Prem Prakash reflected on Hashmi’s multifaceted contributions to art, education, and labor rights. Quoting Hashmi’s work, Prakash stated, “Death transcends religion; it is neither Hindu nor Muslim.” He further emphasized Hashmi’s efforts in exposing societal injustices through his plays.

Community Participation

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from notable individuals, including Shabbir Ahmed, Upendra Kumar Mishra, and Shiv Shankar Prasad. Their presence underscored the enduring relevance of Hashmi’s ideals in contemporary society.
