JAMSHEDPUR – Thieves targeted a liquor shop near Wireless Maidan in Bagbera, cutting through the roof to steal ₹2.7 lakh worth of liquor and cash. The incident occurred late Monday night and came to light on Tuesday morning when a sales staff member opened the shop.
According to the staff, expensive liquor cartons were among the items stolen. “The thieves left the shop in complete disarray,” said the staff member, who immediately informed the area manager.
Recurring Theft Due to Lack of CCTV
Bagbera police reached the scene after being alerted and began their investigation. Station in-charge Krishna Paswan confirmed the incident likely occurred around 4 a.m. “This shop has been targeted before, and the lack of CCTV cameras makes it a vulnerable spot,” he said.
Police Intensify Investigation
Officers are now focusing on identifying suspects and securing evidence. Despite previous thefts, the shop still lacks surveillance measures, complicating investigations. “We are committed to resolving this case and ensuring such incidents do not recur,” Paswan assured.
This robbery has highlighted security concerns in the area, prompting calls for improved surveillance in vulnerable establishments.
