Classical Symphony “Layavinyas” Marks New Year’s Eve In Jamshedpur

Eminent Artists Perform At Madrasi Sammelani’s Celebrations

JAMSHEDPUR – On the eve of New Year 2025, Madrasi Sammelani hosted “Layavinyas,” a spectacular classical instrumental concert directed by renowned Mridangam artist Shri Shankar Narayanaswamy.

The event opened with a tribute to Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi on her birth anniversary. Artists performed the iconic “Bhaja Govindam,” written by Adi Shankaracharya and immortalized by M.S. Subbulakshmi through her voice and music.

Mesmerizing Performances Highlight Musical Heritage

The program’s first chapter featured intricate compositions based on Raag Hamsadhwani, showcasing Tisra and Chatusra Nadais. It also included Raag Mohanam’s nine-beat cycle (Bhupali) and culminated in Raag Vrindavani and Raag Mishra Chapu, blending Adi Tala and Teen Tala with an exceptional instrumental jugalbandi.

The final chapter presented soulful renditions of a Meera Bhajan and concluded with a heartfelt Abhang performance by the ensemble.
