Jharkhand CM Directs Officials to Boost Eco-Tourism Development

Soren Chairs High-Level Meeting with Forest and Tourism Secretaries at State Secretariat

RANCHI – Chief Minister Hemant Soren instructed officials to prepare an effective roadmap for developing eco-tourism across Jharkhand.

The CM held discussions with Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari. The meeting focused on exploring the state’s eco-tourism potential.

Jharkhand has implemented several successful eco-tourism projects recently. The state’s forest cover has increased by 2% in the last two years.

Departmental Coordination

Forest Secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui attended the meeting. Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar also participated in the discussions.

Meanwhile, the state has identified 12 potential eco-tourism sites. Local communities will be involved in their development.

Global Vision

The government plans to study successful models worldwide. Kerala’s eco-tourism initiatives have particularly interested the officials.

Moreover, Jharkhand’s rich biodiversity supports eco-tourism growth. The state hosts over 1,500 species of rare flora and fauna.
