JAMSHEDPUR – Jugsalai Municipal Council has made licensing mandatory for all RO plants and water supply services under Section 204.

The initiative aims to ensure water conservation. Operators must apply within 15 days of the order.

“This move will help regulate groundwater usage,” stated a municipal official.

Licensing Requirements

The council has set specific fee structures. Annual charges include Rs 20,000 lump sum payment.

Moreover, operators must pay Rs 5,000 as permission fee. Rainwater harvesting systems are compulsory for approval.

Enforcement Measures

The council will launch special inspection drives. These will target unlicensed operators after the deadline.

Meanwhile, violations could lead to hefty penalties. Unauthorized operations face fines up to Rs 50,000.

Compliance Process

Operators must submit documents at council office. The license depends on complete rainwater harvesting setup.

Furthermore, legal action awaits rule violators. The council may seal non-compliant facilities.

“We urge all operators to register within the deadline,” emphasized a senior council official.
