JAMSHEDPUR – Police arrested Bunty Guha from Parsudih Golpahari for extorting money from city businesses.
The accused demanded Rs 50,000 from Vaishnavi Jewellers in Kadma. Moreover, he targeted multiple other establishments including furniture stores.
SSP Kishore Kaushal confirmed the arrest during a press briefing. Meanwhile, police recovered weapons and extortion-related evidence.
Criminal Background
Guha had previously served jail time for similar offenses. Furthermore, he resumed criminal activities shortly after bail release.
The accused used convicted murderer Sonu Singh’s name to threaten victims. Additionally, police found a diary listing potential targets.
Police Action
Officers caught Guha during an attempted money collection in Kadma. Moreover, they seized a country-made pistol and live ammunition.
The investigation continues to identify other gang members. Meanwhile, the accused has been sent to judicial custody.
