JAMSHEDPUR – East Singhbhum District Youth Congress Committee members staged a protest near Ambedkar’s statue against recent political developments.
District president Neeraj Singh led the demonstration near the old court. The protesters wore black bands to express their dissent.
“The government is misusing legal machinery against our leaders,” stated a senior Congress leader. Moreover, the protesters demanded immediate release of their youth wing president.
The demonstration followed recent clashes between BJP and Congress members outside Parliament. Meanwhile, Congress leaders termed the arrest as politically motivated.
Growing Political Tensions
JPCC Secretary Prince Singh criticized the central government’s actions. Furthermore, he accused the BJP of undermining democratic principles.
The protest drew participation from various Congress committees. In addition, hundreds of youth wing workers joined the demonstration.
Future Course of Action
The Congress leaders threatened to escalate their protests. On the other hand, they demanded withdrawal of cases against Rahul Gandhi.
