Police Crack Alok Munna Murder Case, Five Accused Arrested

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur police solved the murder of Alok Kumar Bhagat, alias Alok Munna, in the Kadma area by arresting five accused. The arrested individuals include Akash Singh alias Chhotu Bachcha (23), Vishal Kumar alias Bhikhe Baba (21), Pankaj Sahu alias Bachcha (19), Shakti Bibhar, and Vikas Singh. Police recovered three country-made pistols, one live bullet, and three empty shells during the investigation.

Murder Linked to Earlier Confrontation

According to SSP Kishore Kaushal, the murder stemmed from a fight during Kali Puja and was planned to assert dominance. Investigations revealed that Vishal and Pankaj fired the fatal shots, while Vikas Singh, Shakti Bibhar, and others conducted surveillance.

The accused reportedly monitored Alok for a month. He had been out of town and returned just a day before the incident. The attackers knew his routine of visiting the market at 10 AM to collect flowers.

Execution of the Attack

On the day of the incident, the accused followed Alok as he returned from the market on his bike. Vishal fired the first shot near his house, causing Alok to fall off the bike and attempt to escape. The attackers chased him on foot and shot him multiple times. They fled towards Road No. 7, where vehicles awaited them.

Akash Singh alias Chhotu Bachcha is identified as the mastermind. BJP youth wing leader Vikas Singh, one of the accused, was also arrested, sparking political unrest.

Political Protests and BJP Allegations

Following Vikas Singh’s arrest, BJP workers staged protests at Kadma police station, alleging a conspiracy to frame their leader. BJP district president Sudhanshu Jha, along with several leaders, approached the SSP office, demanding an impartial investigation.

The SSP assured a fair probe and directed further action. Meanwhile, two accused, including BJP leader Manish Pandey, remain absconding. Police continue efforts to locate them.
