Adani Allegations, Manipur Violence Spark Congress Protest

Congress Stages Protest Against PM Modi’s Silence on Manipur

Key Points:

  • Congress protests PM’s silence on Manipur violence
  • Party criticizes central government’s alleged industrialist favoritism
  • Congress leaders and ministers participate in Raj Bhavan march

RANCHI – Congress leaders, under the leadership of state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, staged a protest march to the Raj Bhavan.

Congress criticized the central government for prioritizing industrialists over the common people. The protest also targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence on the ongoing violence in Manipur.

State Congress leaders, including four ministers and several MLAs, actively participated in the march. Former state presidents also joined the protest, strengthening party unity.

Addressing the media, state Congress in-charge Rajesh Thakur accused the Modi government of favoring big business groups like Adani while ignoring the country’s pressing issues. He said, “The current government focuses only on keeping industrialists happy.”

Meanwhile, violence in Manipur continues unabated. Incidents of gunfire and curfews have disrupted the lives of residents for months. The Congress party claims the central government’s inaction reflects its lack of concern for public welfare.

Congress also pointed out the increasing divide between the public and the administration. The opposition believes the government must address the humanitarian crisis in Manipur immediately.

In contrast, the BJP-led government has remained firm on its economic policies, citing their long-term benefits. However, protests like these highlight growing frustration among the opposition and citizens.

The march concluded peacefully, but Congress leaders vowed to intensify their efforts if the government does not respond to their demands.
