MEDININAGAR – Palamu Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan has sought explanations from District Supply Officer (DSO) Preeti Kisku and District Cooperative Officer (DCO) Umesh Kumar Sinha for their absence at an important state-level event attended by Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore.

Incident Overview

The program, held on December 15 at Kishunpur PACS in Patan block, marked the launch of paddy procurement for the Kharif marketing season 2024-25. Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore attended the event to inaugurate the paddy procurement drive.

Earlier, DC Shashi Ranjan had instructed officials to invite MPs, MLAs, and local representatives to ensure the program’s smooth conduct. However, both the DSO and DCO were absent, raising concerns about their responsibilities.

Minister Questions Work Culture

Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore expressed dissatisfaction over the officials’ absence. He criticized their negligence and questioned their work culture and commitment. The absence of senior officials during such a significant program was taken seriously by the minister.

Immediate Action Ordered

Taking cognizance of the issue, DC Shashi Ranjan directed the DSO and DCO to submit explanations for their absence. The DC emphasized the need for accountability and adherence to directives, particularly during events of public importance.

The incident highlights the growing concerns over discipline and the responsiveness of district officials in key government programs.
