JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC clinched a dramatic 2-1 win over Punjab FC at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, thanks to a late goal from Javi Siverio.
The home side dominated possession and attacking play but faced stiff resistance. The first half saw Jamshedpur FC edge ahead in stoppage time. A long throw-in by Shubham Sarangi set up Stephen Eze, whose header found Javi Hernandez. Hernandez directed the ball to Siverio, who delivered a clinical finish into the bottom corner.
However, Punjab FC responded immediately after halftime. Luka Majcen combined with Asmir Suljic, who set up Ezequiel Vidal for a simple tap-in to make it 1-1 in the 46th minute.
Siverio’s Late Heroics
Jamshedpur FC continued to press Punjab FC’s defence with swift counterattacks. In the 84th minute, Nikhil Barla’s precise cross found Siverio, who nodded the ball into the net to seal the win. Jamshedpur maintained strong stats with 70% pass completion and 19 crosses compared to Punjab’s 13.

Despite holding 52.3% possession, the Men of Steel had to wait for chances. Mohammed Sanan’s impressive solo run in the 41st minute nearly opened the scoring but missed the target.
The deadlock was finally broken through Siverio’s first goal, a product of training-ground precision. The crowd erupted as Jamshedpur took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Punjab’s Fightback and Missed Opportunities
