CHAKULIA – A tigress that strayed from Odisha’s Simlipal forest was spotted in Chakulia’s Rajabasa jungle under Kaliam Panchayat on Monday morning. By Tuesday, forest officials from Odisha and Chakulia divided into two teams to track the tigress in the Godrashol and Morbeda forest regions.

Tracking Operation Underway

Forest officials reported that the tigress is likely near the Chakulia airstrip and adjacent Godrashol jungle. Using satellite technology, tracking teams are making continuous efforts to pinpoint the tigress’s location.

Officials stated, “We are monitoring the tigress’s movement closely and are working to safely locate and track it.” Teams are combing the dense forest areas, and efforts are being intensified to ensure public safety.

Fear Among Villagers

The news of the tigress’s presence has caused panic among villagers in the surrounding areas. Many residents are hesitant to leave their homes due to fear of the wild animal.

“We are scared to step out, especially at night. The forest officials need to track the tigress quickly,” said a local resident.

Forest teams have advised villagers to remain cautious and avoid venturing into the forest areas until the tigress is tracked and its movement controlled.

Vigilance Continues

Forest officials have reassured that every measure is being taken to ensure the safety of both the tigress and the villagers. Updates on the tigress’s location are expected as tracking operations progress.
