Kolhan-Level Journalist Award Ceremony to Be Held on December 15

JAMSHEDPUR – The Press Club of Jamshedpur will organize the Kolhan-Level Journalist Award Ceremony-2024 on December 15. The event will take place at Hotel NH Hill in Pardih.

Odisha Governor Raghubar Das will grace the ceremony as the chief guest, while Jharkhand’s Education Minister Ramdas Soren will attend as the special guest. Member of Parliament Vidyut Varan Mahato will be present as the honored guest.

Recognizing Journalistic Excellence

During the ceremony, senior journalists, families of late journalists, and working journalists will be honored for their contributions. Speaking at a preparation meeting held at the Circuit House, Press Club President Sanjeev Bhardwaj emphasized the significance of recognizing journalists for their vital work.

General Secretary Vikas Srivastava outlined the program details, explaining that entries were invited for the awards based on journalistic work between 2023 and 2024. The winners will be selected by a specially formed jury committee.

Categories of Awards

The awards will be distributed in three categories:

  1. Families of Late Journalists – Honoring families of journalists who contributed significantly to journalism in the Kolhan region.
  2. Senior Journalists – Recognizing journalists with long-standing contributions to the field.
  3. Working Journalists – Awards based on the quality of work, including published stories and impactful photographs from 2023 to 2024.

Supporting Organizations to Be Honored

Apart from journalists, the Press Club will also honor partner organizations that have actively supported its initiatives throughout the year.

Event Preparations

The meeting chaired by President Sanjeev Bhardwaj saw active participation from club officials, including Vice Presidents Sumit Jha and Rakesh Singh, Assistant Secretaries Amit Tiwari and Ved Prakash Gupta, Treasurer Manman Pandey, and Executive Members Dr. Pramod Kumar and Kumar Manish.

They collectively stressed the need to ensure the program’s success and grandeur, reflecting its importance for the journalist community.
