MEDININAGAR – The National Momin Conference has planned to commemorate Sheikh Bhikhari’s martyrdom day on January 8 at Palamu Town Hall.
On Sunday, a meeting was organized at Abdul Haq Ansari’s residence on Teacher Training College Road in Kund Mohalla, Palamu. The meeting was chaired by District President Waseerul Haq Ansari. Discussions were held to ensure the success of the program. It was decided that guests from Ranchi, Patna, and other cities would participate in the event.
State President Dr. Suleman Ansari emphasized the need to intensify promotions in urban and rural areas to ensure higher public participation.
Attendees expressed their delight over the appointment of legislators Dr. Irfan Ansari, Hafizul Hasan, and Radha Krishna Kishore as ministers. Furthermore, demands were made for the implementation of the Justice Sachar Committee and Rangarajan Mishra reports, along with conducting a caste census at both central and state levels.
Prominent attendees at the meeting included Haji Khalil Ansari, Haji Ibrar, Izrail Ansari, Ishtiaq Ansari, Ghulam Haider, Dr. Maqbool, Razi Ahmad, Nesar Ansari, and Ziaul Haq.
Sheikh Bhikhari, a key freedom fighter during the 1857 rebellion, was born in 1819 in Burmu, Ranchi. On January 8, 1858, he was martyred after being hanged by the British at Chutupalu Valley. His sacrifices are remembered for his leadership in resisting British rule during India’s first struggle for independence.
