Local residents protest over repeated attempts at land grabbing in Jugsalai.
Key Points:
- Encroachers target Prashant Sardar’s land in Jugsalai despite past administrative action.
- Complainants approach the Deputy Commissioner for justice and intervention.
- Local administration faces criticism over handling of repeated encroachment issues.
JAMSHEDPUR – The residents of Jugsalai in Jamshedpur have raised concerns over repeated attempts by anti-social elements to encroach upon private land belonging to Prashant Sardar.
The disputed land, recorded under Khata Nos. 61 and 63 and Plot Nos. 530 and 531, was officially handed back to Sardar in 2023 following an investigation and action by the local administration, led by the Land Reforms Deputy Collector (LRDC). Despite this, illegal activities on the land have resumed.
Prashant Sardar, along with local residents, recently approached the Deputy Commissioner, expressing dissatisfaction with the administration’s inability to safeguard his property. “We need immediate intervention to ensure justice and stop these activities,” a complainant stated.
This issue has reignited public concerns about the efficiency of local governance in handling recurring land disputes. Furthermore, such incidents highlight broader challenges in curbing illegal encroachment across the region. Authorities have yet to confirm their next steps in addressing the complaints.
Meanwhile, residents have called for stricter enforcement and increased vigilance to deter further attempts.
