JAMSHEDPUR – The Jamshedpur Mazdoor Union has extended its regional committee to rural areas, appointing Bharat Singh as Vice President.
The expansion, which includes eight new members, aims to address worker issues in places like Parsudih, where hundreds of laborers face challenges such as fair wages, bonuses, and overtime payments.
Ambuj Thakur, the General Secretary of the union and the state AITUC Secretary, confirmed the developments during a recent conversation.
He noted that the first phase of this regional expansion focuses on rural zones like Parsudih, where many laborers are employed on a daily wage basis.
The newly appointed committee will work on resolving these pressing labor issues.
Nirmal Das has been named as the committee’s Secretary, further strengthening the leadership team.
Thakur expressed optimism that the newly formed committee would bring about much-needed reforms and improvements for the laborers in the region.
The expansion is seen as a step towards better representation and a more structured approach to resolving workers’ grievances.
