MMC Launches Crackdown on Illegal Water Connections in City

JAMSHEDPUR – Mango Municipal Corporation has identified 200 illegal water connections and defaulters in a major enforcement drive.

The corporation has intensified its efforts against water theft. Meanwhile, officials have started issuing notices to defaulters.

Moreover, the campaign targets multiple violations across neighborhoods. However, some residents have requested more time for compliance.

Water Meter Installation

The MMC requires mandatory water meters for all connections. Besides, the corporation conducts regular inspections to ensure compliance.

Furthermore, unauthorized water motors remain a significant concern. In addition, officials have warned of immediate confiscation of illegal equipment.

Legal Framework

The campaign operates under the Jharkhand Nagarpalika Act 2011. Meanwhile, MMC has established a dedicated enforcement team.

Moreover, defaulters face potential criminal charges. Additionally, the corporation maintains a database of repeat offenders.

Future Plans

The campaign will expand to other areas soon. Besides, MMC plans to introduce online bill payment systems.
