Leprosy Training Program Held for Medical Officers in East Singhbhum

185 New Cases Identified Through Door-to-Door Search Campaign

JAMSHEDPUR – Medical officers and leprosy workers attended a comprehensive training program focusing on early detection and treatment of leprosy in East Singhbhum district.

State experts shared vital information about leprosy management. A health official states, “Early detection significantly reduces the risk of disabilities.”

Campaign Success

The recent door-to-door search campaign yielded important results. Teams identified 185 new cases.

Meanwhile, all patients received immediate access to free treatment. The campaign ran for 16 days.

Patient Support Initiatives

The government provides substantial financial assistance to patients. PB patients receive ₹500 monthly support.

Moreover, MB patients get ₹6000 under the food supplements program. All funds transfer directly to bank accounts.

Comprehensive Training

Experts covered various aspects of patient care. The sessions included information about reconstructive surgery.

Additionally, participants learned about managing patient reactions. They received guidance on utilizing referral centers.

Furthermore, the program emphasized self-care techniques. Certificates marked the successful completion of training.
