ADITYAPUR – The Adityapur Municipal Corporation, led by Deputy Municipal Commissioner Parul Singh, launched an anti-encroachment drive today, demolishing over three dozen unauthorized shops along the roadsides.
The operation, conducted with the assistance of the Traffic Police and Adityapur Police, utilized JCB and Poclain machines to dismantle both temporary and permanent structures encroaching on public spaces. Prior to the demolition, officials used loudspeakers to urge shopkeepers to voluntarily remove their illegal establishments, leading some to comply.
Shopkeepers with remaining unauthorized structures have been granted a two-day period to clear them. The Municipal Corporation plans to resume the drive on Sunday, targeting areas such as S-Type Chowk, Imli Chowk, Akashvani Chowk, Sher-e-Punjab Chowk, Adityapur Thana Road, and routes leading to the Municipal Corporation office.
During the operation, Adityapur Police Station In-Charge Rajeev Singh and Traffic Police Station In-Charge Rajesh Kumar were present to ensure security and assist in the drive’s execution.
This initiative follows a similar campaign by the Railway Administration in Adityapur’s Sharma Basti, where 70 illegal structures were demolished to clear encroachments. citeturn0search5
