JAMSHEDPUR – A swift police operation led to the discovery of a mini arms factory in Mango’s Dai Guttu area. Two suspects, Govind Sharma and Gopal Sahu, were arrested for their involvement in illegal arms supply and remanded to judicial custody.

DSP Headquarters-1 Bhola Prasad shared details of the operation, revealing that a tip-off to the Senior Superintendent of Police highlighted suspicious activity involving illegal weapons at Kaveri Road, Dai Guttu. Acting promptly, a police team was formed under his guidance. The team apprehended the suspects based on descriptions provided during the inquiry.

During questioning, both admitted to their involvement in arms trading. Gopal Sahu disclosed that he had negotiated a ₹30,000 deal with Govind Sharma for a semi-automatic pistol, with ₹2,000 already paid as an advance. Sahu was planning to order four more firearms but was caught red-handed due to the alertness of the police.

Govind Sharma, a repeat offender, had previously served jail time for similar crimes. Police seized a semi-automatic pistol and weapon-making tools from the site. Further investigations are underway to identify other individuals linked to the racket.

This bust underscores law enforcement’s vigilance in curbing illegal arms manufacturing and trading activities in the region.
