MGM Medical College Installs 58 CCTV Cameras to Combat Ragging

New surveillance system covers both male and female hostels after recent incidents

Key Points:

* Male hostel gets 42 cameras, female hostel equipped with 16 units

* Installation reaches 80% completion amid rising safety concerns

* Strategic placement ensures comprehensive monitoring of hostel premises

JAMSHEDPUR – MGM Medical College strengthens security with extensive CCTV network to prevent ragging incidents.

The male hostel received more surveillance coverage.

Meanwhile, female hostel security also got enhanced.

Cameras monitor verandas and common spaces.

Moreover, the main entrances have special focus.

"These measures will ensure student safety," stated Dr. Diwakar Hansda.

The installation process nears completion.

Furthermore, dedicated staff will monitor the footage.

Previous incidents highlighted surveillance gaps.

However, the new system promises better coverage.

In fact, the college faced multiple ragging complaints recently.

Additionally, the district administration supported this initiative.

The cameras serve as deterrents against misconduct.

Besides, they help investigate reported incidents.

"Security remains our top priority," noted a college official.

Similar systems have reduced ragging by 70% elsewhere.

On the other hand, students welcome this safety measure.
