Child-Friendly Legal Service Unit Formed in Jamshedpur

JAMSHEDPUR – A 20-member Legal Service Unit for Children (LSUC) was formed in East Singhbhum district on Thursday. The initiative aims to safeguard and support child rights, as per the directives of the National Legal Aid Committee (NALSA).

DLSA Secretary Rajendra Prasad has been appointed chairman of the unit. Other key members include Lok Adalat Chairman and legal professionals such as Gaurav Pathak, Dinesh Sahu, Suggi Murmu, Lakshmi Birua, Leena Mohanty, Pushpa Kumari, Subodh Hembram, and Dipti Singh.

The unit also features para-legal volunteers like S. Shyama, Sanjit Das, Prabhat Kumar Sardar, Arun Rajak, Anand Sahu, Himanshu Nayak, Balram Hembram, Chhaya Mandal, Dobo Chakiya, Nitai Chandra Gorai, Duli Hembram, and Joba Rani Baske.

This unit will function under the guidelines of the Standard Child-Friendly Legal Service Unit (CFLSU). Its primary goal is to ensure access to justice for children in need of legal support and to promote awareness of child rights.

Officials emphasized the importance of this initiative, noting its potential to create a more inclusive and supportive legal framework for children in the region.
