One Dead, Three Injured in Tractor-Tempo Collision in Palamu

MEDININAGAR – A tragic road accident near Rajogarhi Mod in the Lesliganj police station area of Palamu district resulted in the death of a 70-year-old man and left three others injured on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Mohammed Hussain from Tetrai Beru village in Panki, succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The injured include 35-year-old Kusum Devi, her five-year-old son Suraj Kumar from Sarouna village, and Mahfooz Alam from Beru village.
All three received initial treatment at the Lesliganj Community Health Center before being referred to MMCH for advanced care due to the severity of their injuries.
Suraj Kumar’s condition is reported to be critical.
According to Lesliganj Police Station In-Charge Raju Kumar Gupta, the elderly victim died during treatment at the health center.
Kusum Devi stated that her family had recently returned to their village from Kolkata, where they work as laborers, to help with the rice harvest.
On Friday morning, they were traveling to Kusum’s maternal home in Ithe village by tempo when a tractor from the opposite direction collided head-on with their vehicle near Rajogarhi Mod.
Kusum regained consciousness in the hospital and recounted that the tempo was carrying six to seven passengers at the time of the accident.
Meanwhile, Mahfooz Alam’s brother shared that they were en route to Shahpur to attend a wedding ceremony when the collision occurred.
