Leaders highlight Birsa Munda’s ideals, allege failures of state and national opposition

Key Points:

– BJP accuses JMM-Congress government of fostering corruption and appeasement politics

– Promises 287,000 government jobs in Jharkhand, criticizes opposition’s unfulfilled promises

– Leaders pledge to uphold Birsa Munda’s teachings and preserve tribal rights and culture

RANCHI – In a joint press conference held at the BJP Media Center in Ranchi on Friday, key BJP leaders, including Himachal Pradesh President Rajeev Bindal, National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia, and Telangana’s former Finance Minister Etela Rajender, strongly criticized the JMM-Congress government for alleged failures in governance and appeasement politics.

Bhatia began by acknowledging the significance of the day, celebrating Birsa Munda’s 150th birth anniversary, Jharkhand’s Foundation Day, and Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s Prakash Parv.

He claimed that the recent voting in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections reflected the public’s clear preference for a BJP-NDA government.

Bhatia accused the JMM-Congress government of encouraging illegal infiltration and undermining tribal rights, terming their actions as a threat to Jharkhand’s culture and identity.

“The BJP stands firmly for the rights of tribals and the integrity of Jharkhand,” Bhatia said, highlighting the party’s pledge to address the issues of illegal infiltration and unemployment.

The BJP has promised 287,000 government jobs for the state’s youth in its manifesto, which Bhatia said would be a major relief for unemployed citizens.

Himachal Pradesh President Rajeev Bindal further criticized Congress for its failure to deliver on promises, citing examples from Himachal Pradesh where Congress allegedly failed to fulfill commitments of providing jobs and free electricity.

Similarly, Telangana’s former Finance Minister Etela Rajender accused Congress of making guarantees without following through, likening the situation in Telangana to that of Himachal Pradesh.

Bhatia emphasized Birsa Munda’s teachings as central to BJP’s commitment, asserting that his ideals of protecting land, culture, and identity align with the party’s vision for Jharkhand’s development.

He accused the opposition of using tribals as vote banks while neglecting their security and cultural preservation.

The leaders also questioned the silence of opposition parties on issues such as the disrespect shown towards women leaders like Sita Soren and highlighted a High Court ruling on the cultural threat posed by illegal infiltrators.

The press conference, attended by state spokesperson Avinesh Singh and others, reflected BJP’s intensified campaign ahead of the Assembly elections.
