JAMSHEDPUR – Odisha Governor Raghubar Das returned to his hometown Jamshedpur to cast his vote in the first phase of Jharkhand Assembly elections on Wednesday.
Accompanied by his family, he exercised his voting rights at Harijan High School in Bhalubasa, where he also encouraged citizens to participate actively in the democratic process.
Notably, Das’s daughter-in-law, Purnima Das, is contesting from the Jamshedpur East seat as a BJP candidate, leading to speculation regarding his presence in the city.
Addressing questions from the media on his involvement in her campaign, Das dismissed the allegations as “baseless and unfounded,” stating that his visit was solely to spend time with family during the festival season.
The Governor emphasized his commitment to democratic principles and urged voters to make their voices heard in the current election.
