JAMSHEDPUR – The festival of Chhath Puja saw large crowds of devotees gather at Sonari’s iconic Do Muhani Ghat in Jamshedpur.

Banna Gupta, the incumbent MLA and Independent Alliance candidate for Jamshedpur West in the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly election, attended with his family to offer Arghya to the setting Sun.

He also prayed for peace and prosperity in the community as part of the rituals.

The recently beautified Sonari Ghat was developed with support from Gupta, featuring a two-kilometer stretch along the river for easier access for pilgrims.

Commenting on the significance of the location, Gupta stated, "Do Muhani Sangam holds immense religious importance as it marks the confluence of two rivers."

He expressed his intent to further develop the ghat as a dedicated tourist destination.

This initiative is expected to benefit local residents and visitors alike, facilitating various cultural and religious events in the area.

Gupta’s efforts in beautifying the ghat have been widely appreciated by the community, with locals remarking on the enhanced appeal of the site for rituals and gatherings.

The Chhath Puja arrangements at the newly enhanced ghat drew admiration from attendees who praised the facilities.
