JAMSHEDPUR – Saryu Roy, the NDA candidate from Jamshedpur West, inaugurated a Chhath camp at Jai Prakash Garden in Adityapur on Thursday, marking his respect for the Sun God and the festival’s devotion.

Roy paid his respects to the setting sun, offering Arghya in observance of Chhath Puja traditions, before visiting various ghats including Tillu Bhatta, Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Chhath Ghat, and Domuhani Ghat, where he greeted worshippers and offered his best wishes.

A Day of Devotion and Community Engagement

In the early morning, Roy commenced the day with a padyatra (foot march) in the Ram Mandir area, where he connected with residents, urging them to cast their votes on November 13.

He emphasized the symbolism in this year’s election campaign, stating that "in Jamshedpur West, the Lotus is the Cylinder, and the Cylinder is the Lotus," reflecting his alliance’s unique campaign theme.

Plans for Morning Arghya Ritual

Roy also announced his plan to return on Friday morning to various ghats to offer Arghya to the rising sun, completing the final rituals of Chhath Puja.

Roy’s active participation in the community’s Chhath Puja observances highlights his connection with the local culture and traditions, resonating with voters who celebrate the Chhath Puja with deep devotion.

His interactions at each ghat reflect his ongoing efforts to connect with and serve the local population.
