SERAIKELA – Early on Thursday, ASI Suresh Paswan, 52, passed away after a sudden heart attack while on duty guarding the EVM warehouse.

Paswan, originally from Sheikhpura, Bihar, experienced chest pain around 4:30 a.m. and proceeded to walk to the Sadar Hospital for medical assistance.

However, despite efforts by hospital staff, he was declared dead shortly after arrival.

According to the doctors, he suffered a major heart attack and passed away before a referral for further treatment could be completed.

Upon hearing the news, senior police officials rushed to Sadar Hospital to provide support and informed Paswan’s family.

Authorities have since commenced formal procedures regarding the incident.

The sudden loss of ASI Paswan has cast a shadow of grief over the police department, and an official statement regarding the next steps is expected soon.
