Palamu’s 40 Candidates from Five Assembly Seats File Nominations

MEDININAGAR – Forty candidates from five Assembly constituencies in Palamu filed their nomination papers for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections on November 13.

On Thursday, the sixth day of the nomination process, 40 candidates submitted their papers before the election officials from Panki, Chhatarpur, Daltonganj, Vishrampur, and Hussainabad constituencies.

Seven candidates from Panki, three from Chhatarpur, 12 from Daltonganj, 11 from Vishrampur, and seven from Hussainabad filed their nominations.

In Panki, major candidates include Congress leader Devendra Kumar Singh, Mumtaz Khan from Azad Samaj Party, Omkarnath from Jharkhand Democratic Front, and Avinash Ranjan from CPI-ML. Additionally, independent candidates Jitendra Kumar, Vinay Singh, and Vinod Kumar also entered the race.

Candidates from Daltonganj and Vishrampur

Daltonganj constituency saw prominent figures such as BJP candidate Alok Kumar Chaurasia and Congress leader KN Tripathi filing their nominations. Ajay Kumar Singh from Azad Samaj Party and independent candidates Azmuddin Miyan and Vishwas Singh are also contesting.

In Vishrampur, BJP’s Ramchandra Chandravanshi, BSP’s state president Rajesh Mehta, and Samajwadi Party’s Anju Singh are key contenders. Independent candidates Mahavir Singh, Manoj Kumar Ravi, Masroor Ahmed Khan, and Sudveet Kumar Sharma, among others, have also filed their papers.

Hussainabad and Chhatarpur Candidates

From Hussainabad, RJD’s state president Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav, independent candidate Colonel Sanjay Kumar Singh, and Babar Ali are among the notable figures. In Chhatarpur, BJP’s Pushpa Devi, along with independent candidates Lakshmi Ravi and Kameshwar Paswan, also submitted their nominations.

The election atmosphere in Palamu is charged with excitement, as many candidates from different parties and independent backgrounds have entered the fray. “With so many candidates, this election will be fiercely contested,” remarked a local observer.

Several candidates, including that of the BJP, organized meetings before filing nominations. The BJP candidate’s meet was attended by the Union Minister of State for Coal Satish Chandra Dubey.
