Heavy Rainfall Expected During Prime Minister’s Road Show on September 15

Key Points:

• PM Modi to visit Jamshedpur on September 15 amid heavy rain forecast

• Cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh impacting Jharkhand’s weather

• Yellow and orange alerts issued for several districts in the state

RANCHI / JAMSHEDPUR – Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jamshedpur on September 15 may face weather-related challenges due to expected heavy rainfall.

Intermittent showers have been occurring across Jharkhand, including the Kolhan region, since last night.

This has led to a significant change in the weather conditions.

During his visit, PM Modi is scheduled to release the first installment of funds for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana through DBT.

He will also inaugurate several Vande Bharat train services.

The Prime Minister’s planned road show might be affected by the adverse weather conditions.

"The deep depression over Bangladesh is likely to move west-northwestward, maintaining its intensity," explained Abhishek Anand, a meteorologist at the Ranchi center.

This weather system is expected to impact various parts of Jharkhand until September 16.

Heavy Rainfall Alerts

The Meteorological Department has issued alerts for several districts in Jharkhand.

On September 15, a yellow alert has been declared for Ramgarh, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh, Saraikela, and East Singhbhum.

Meanwhile, an orange alert is in effect for Ranchi, Gumla, Simdega, Khunti, and West Singhbhum.

A local resident expressed concern, saying, "We hope the authorities have made proper arrangements to manage any weather-related disruptions during the PM’s visit."

Extended Forecast

The weather department predicts that the rainfall activity will continue in some parts of the state.

On September 16, a yellow alert for rain has been issued for Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, and Simdega districts.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure the smooth execution of the Prime Minister’s program.
