JAMSHEDPUR – Former BJP legislator Arvind Singh declared his independent candidacy for Ichagarh after resigning from the party.
The veteran politician has previously won the seat thrice under different banners.
Moreover, several BJP members, including Deepu Jaiswal and Arun Singh, have resigned in solidarity.
Furthermore, a local supporter highlighted Singh’s 35-year dedication to regional development.
Meanwhile, the candidate aims to transform the Chandil Dam from a "white elephant" into a beneficial project.
In addition, Singh plans to boost agricultural productivity through improved irrigation facilities.
However, an area resident confirmed that dam-displaced families have waited over five decades for compensation.
Additionally, the former MLA intends to create more employment opportunities and promote tourism.
On the other hand, Singh expressed determination to counter caste-based political practices.
