JAMSHEDPUR – Karva Chauth was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm across Jamshedpur.

Women from different parts of the city gathered in groups at temples to offer prayers, seeking the well-being and longevity of their husbands.

They observed a day-long waterless fast, following ancient traditions that date back centuries.

After waiting for the moon to appear, women ended their fast by drinking water from their husbands’ hands.

As per custom, they first glimpse the moon and then their husbands to complete the ritual.

In several neighborhoods, older women narrated the traditional story associated with the fast, emphasizing its sanctity.

The festival, while modernized in its practices, still remains deeply rooted in faith, and women sought blessings from elders after performing the rituals.

In contrast to the past, the celebrations are now more community-focused, with many women gathering together in prayer rather than staying at home.

However, the devotion and significance of Karva Chauth remain unchanged for the participants.
