Anurag Foundation Commemorates World Thalassemia Day, Honors Founder’s Contributions

Emotional testimonies highlight the NGO’s unwavering support for thalassemia-affected families

Anurag Foundation, a renowned NGO established in 2002, observed World Thalassemia Day at the Centre for Excellence, bringing together distinguished guests, thalassemia-affected children, and their families. The event featured heartfelt narratives and a celebration of the Foundation’s tireless efforts in providing comprehensive care and support to those battling the condition.

JAMSHEDPUR – Anurag Foundation, a prominent NGO founded in 2002, marked World Thalassemia Day with a poignant gathering at the Centre for Excellence.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Ujjal Chakraborty, Managing Director of JCAPCPL, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. P K Ghose, Managing Director of JAMIPOL, as the Guest of Honour.

The audience was moved by the emotional testimonies shared by Nitu Kumari, a young thalassemia patient, who recounted her journey and the crucial role Anurag Foundation has played in her life.

Anjali Mahato, mother of Devanshu, shed light on the daily challenges of raising a child with thalassemia and the indispensable support provided by the Foundation.

Vasudha Deshmukh, Founder and Chief Trustee of Anurag Foundation, was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to humanity and society.

Her dedication and unwavering commitment to improving the lives of thalassemia-affected children and their families have been an inspiration to all.

The Managing Directors of JCAPCPL and JAMIPOL lauded Anurag Foundation’s relentless efforts and pledged their continued support in tackling the challenges faced by thalassemia-affected families.

Their endorsement underscores the significance of the Foundation’s work and the impact it has made in the lives of those affected by the condition.

Presently, Anurag Foundation provides comprehensive care to over 85 registered children with thalassemia, offering free blood transfusions, essential medications, and medical supervision.

The Foundation also conducts regular health check-up camps, made possible by the generous support of the Jamshedpur Blood Bank and the expertise of Dr. Chakraborty, a hematologist from Kolkata who is associated with the Foundation.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by thalassemia-affected children and their families, and the crucial role played by organizations like Anurag Foundation in providing them with the necessary support and care.

As the Foundation continues its mission, it remains committed to improving the lives of those affected by thalassemia and raising awareness about the condition in society.
