JAMSHEDPUR – Sakchi Police raided the prisoner ward of MGM Hospital on Friday, uncovering an illegal operation led by Congress leader Ishwar Singh.
Singh, accused in a murder case, had been allegedly running a gang from the hospital while pretending to receive medical treatment.
Two mobile phones were seized during the raid, reportedly used by Singh and two other inmates, Saba Singh and Shubham Singh, who are incarcerated in Bagbera and Adityapur jails, respectively.
Sakchi Police station officer-in-charge Anand Mishra stated that the inmates had been exploiting the hospital ward for 10-15 days, using the facilities to coordinate activities, including those linked to the murder of Shaktinath Singh, the brother of Amarnath Singh from Mango.
Cases have been registered against the three, and further investigations are ongoing.
