Ranchi Airport Expands Routes: Direct Flights to Goa, Jaipur
New winter schedule includes Bengaluru flight, starting October 30
Key Points:
• Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport to offer direct flights to Goa and Jaipur
• DGCA approves new routes as part of winter schedule
• Additional direct flight to Bengaluru also set to commence
RANCHI – Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport is set to enhance connectivity with new direct flights to Goa, Jaipur, and Bengaluru starting October 30.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has given the green light for expanding flight services from Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport.
In addition to Goa and Jaipur, a direct flight to Bengaluru is also on the cards.
These new routes are slated to begin operations by October 30 as part of the winter schedule.
However, the exact timetable and ticket prices are yet to be finalized.
An airport official stated, "We’re awaiting the final schedule and fare details to share with passengers."
Notably, this development addresses long-standing demands for better air connectivity from Ranchi.
Previously, a direct flight to Goa was available but was discontinued due to low passenger numbers.
On the other hand, the renewed interest has prompted the reintroduction of this route along with the Jaipur connection.
Meanwhile, travelers can anticipate improved access to these popular destinations once the new flights commence.
Moreover, the airport authorities are working to ensure a smooth launch of these services.
A local travel agent commented, "This expansion will significantly boost tourism and business travel from Ranchi."
In contrast to the earlier situation, the current demand suggests these new routes may see better utilization.
Furthermore, the addition of a Bengaluru flight caters to the growing IT sector connections between the cities.
