Illegal Liquor Bust in Lopta Forest: Police Seize 4,000 Liters

A police raid in Lopta village’s forest uncovers massive haul of illegal liquor. Five men were arrested packaging liquor in cartons.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant effort to combat the illegal liquor trade, the Kuchai police raided a refuge in the forest of the Lopta village, confiscating 4,000 litres of illegal English liquor.

The arrest of five men who were discovered packaging the illicit liquor in cartons and bottles was the outcome of the operation, which was spearheaded by SDPO Samir Savaiya and supported by officers from nearby police stations.

In total, authorities confiscated 388 boxes of spirits, 18 jars containing 20 litres of alcohol each, and numerous containers filled with spirits used in the liquor production process.

In addition, a significant quantity of empty bottles, decals bearing the labels "Royal Stag" and "Kings Gold," and other packaging materials for illicit liquor were retrieved.

Saluka Bankira (27), Ram Lal Hembrom (25), Ganesh Munda (40), Ram Soy (19), and Sikur Soy (19) were also apprehended by the police, who confiscated a Hero Honda motorbike and four mobile phones.

The accused disclosed that other individuals were involved in this illicit operation, and additional investigations are currently underway, according to officials.

The raid team consisted of reserve guards and officers from various police divisions, including the Kharsawan and Kuchai police stations.
