JAMSHEDPUR – With the Jharkhand Assembly elections announced, authorities in East Singhbhum have begun extensive preparations to ensure transparent and impartial polling.
On Wednesday, a high-level committee meeting was held at the district headquarters under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ananya Mittal, who is also the District Election Officer.
Senior police officers, including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishore Kaushal, attended the meeting.
Mittal emphasized the strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct and stated that all officers have been instructed accordingly.
Meanwhile, SSP Kaushal informed that checkpoints connecting the district to neighboring states have been activated to prevent illegal activities.
Field Surveillance Teams (FSTs) have also been mobilized.
Additionally, licensed weapons are being verified, and illegal arms are being confiscated.
Authorities are conducting raids to arrest history-sheeters, while campaigns against illegal alcohol and narcotics have been intensified.
The district police are committed to ensuring a fair and transparent election process.
