JAMSHEDPUR – The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) organized ‘Manak Mahotsav’ to mark World Standards Day in the steel city.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of standards.

SK Verma, Senior Director of BIS Jamshedpur, highlighted the organization’s initiatives.

"This year’s theme focuses on AI in industry," Verma explained.

BIS has established Standard Clubs in academic institutions.

The bureau also conducts sensitization training for gram panchayats.

Additionally, BIS offers handholding initiatives for industries and jewelers.

Dr. Sanjay from NIT Jamshedpur discussed the advent of Industry 5.0.

"Collaborative robots are the future of manufacturing," he remarked.

Meanwhile, SK Khirwal emphasized standards as catalysts for growth.

"Atomic energy contributes to economic and environmental sustainability," Khirwal stated.

Dr. Anup Kumar of Tata Steel shared insights on AI in steel production.

"AI enhances product quality and boosts the ‘Made in India’ initiative," Kumar noted.

Prof. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari stressed the ubiquity of AI in daily life.

"All industries, big or small, now utilize AI," Tiwari observed.

The event saw participation from various sectors, including students.

Awards were presented to industries, mentors, and resource persons.

School students performed cultural activities during the program.

"Standards ensure access to safe, reliable products," a participant commented.

The celebration underscored the vital role of standards in societal well-being.
