RANCHI – In preparation for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are intensifying their efforts to finalize election strategies.
JMM will hold a central committee meeting on October 14 at Sohrai Bhavan, where party leaders, including acting president and Chief Minister Hemant Soren, will participate.
There is also a possibility that JMM’s central president, Shibu Soren, will attend the meeting.
Around 243 committee members, along with district presidents and secretaries from across the state, are expected to discuss election strategies, focusing on each seat and potential alliances.
Hemant Soren emphasized that the focus should not be on increasing the number of seats, but on prioritizing winnable seats.
On the same day, the BJP will host two crucial meetings at its state office in Ranchi.
The first meeting will focus on election management, while the second will involve office-bearers from various party fronts.
Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also co-in-charge of the Jharkhand BJP elections, will be present to provide guidance.
BJP leaders are concentrating on strengthening weak booths and focusing on vulnerable seats, with an eye on potential candidate changes.
With the party buoyed by its recent victory in Haryana, the BJP leadership is keen to avoid risks in Jharkhand, especially given concerns over anti-incumbency factors.
The BJP is also working to solidify its alliance with AJSU, with seat-sharing discussions expected to be finalized soon.
